Jack Harrison is an English professional midfielder for Leeds United in the English Premier League. After being selected 1st overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, Jack has played for New York City FC, Manchester City, and Middlesbrough before signing with Leeds in 2021.
Jack, a Manchester United youth player, decided to move to the United States at the age of 14, with the guidance of his mother, Debbie, in hopes of earning an education and becoming a pro through another pathway.
Jack attended Berkshire School in Massachusetts, where he would win Gatorade National Player of the Year before attending Wake Forest University. Following his All-American freshman year at Wake, Jack was selected as the #1 overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by New York City FC.
Following his rookie campaign, Jack was named the 2nd best player in MLS under the age of 24 and was called up by England U21s. Eventually Jack would earn a transfer to Manchester City, becoming one of the highest outgoing transfer fees in MLS history.
Jack went on subsequent loans to Middlesbrough and Leeds United, where he helped the latter earn promotion to the Premier League. In his first Premier League season, Jack scored 8 goals and 8 assists, helping the club finish in 9th place. Leeds purchased Jack in 2021 as he accumulated over 130 appearances with the club.
